Privacy Policy

1. What we collect
- If you submit an event: your name, email, and whatever event details you provide (including an optional cover photo and the event's location, sometimes as GPS coordinates if you use the map picker).
- If you join an event's interest list: your name, a contact (email or phone), and optionally a WhatsApp handle — shared with that event's organizer so they can reach you.
- If you comment on an event: the name you type and your comment text, shown publicly on that event's page.
- If you use the contact form: your name, email, and message.
- If you sign up for alerts: your email and your chosen categories/cities.
- If you leave a platform review: the name you type, your rating, and your review text, shown publicly.
- Basic technical data: a page-view count per event, and small cookies for your language choice and light/dark theme preference.
2. How we use it
- To run the core features you're using — showing events, interest lists, comments, and alerts.
- To send email you've asked for: a confirmation when you submit an event, notifications to organizers about new interest/comments, and category alerts you've subscribed to. Email is sent through Resend, a third-party email delivery service.
- To respond to contact-form messages.
- To review submitted events before they go live, and to moderate reported content.
We don't sell your data, and we don't use it for third-party advertising.
3. What's shown publicly vs. kept private
Comments, reviews, and event listings themselves are public by design. Interest-list contact details (email/phone/WhatsApp) are not public — they're only visible to that specific event's organizer, so they can reach people who signed up.
4. Cookies
We use a small number of functional cookies: your language choice (English/French), your light/dark theme preference, and — for admin accounts only — a session cookie to keep you logged in. We don't use third-party advertising or tracking cookies.
5. Your choices
You can unsubscribe from category alerts at any time via the link in those emails. For anything else — correcting, removing, or asking what data we have about you — reach out through the contact form and we'll handle it directly; self-serve controls for this are still on our roadmap.
6. Children's privacy
KamerHive isn't directed at children, and we don't knowingly collect data from anyone under 13.
7. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the platform evolves. Material changes will be reflected by updating the date at the top of this page.
8. Contact
